Back Country Horsemen

Back Country Horsemen – Wasatch Front Chapter

The purpose of Back Country Horsemen of Utah is:

  1. To perpetuate the common-sense use and enjoyment of horses and mules in America’s back country and wilderness.
  2. To work to ensure that public lands remain open to recreational pack and saddle stock use.
  3. To assist the agencies responsible for the management of public lands.
  4. To educate, encourage and solicit active participation in wise and sustaining use of back country resources by horsemen and the public, commensurate with our heritage.
  5. To foster and encourage the formation of new chapters of Back Country Horsemen throughout Utah.

We are a group of horse men and women who enjoy riding horses and are especially engaged in trail work activities that promote non-motorized use.  During the summer months we have pleasure rides, work projects, youth camp activities and pack trips.  In past years, Back Country Horsemen of America (of which we are a part) provided over $14,000,000 of volunteer work commensurate with our purpose.

We appreciate our affiliation with The Community Foundation of Ogden Valley and the opportunity provided for us to raise funds that enable BCH  to support the establishment and maintenance of trails in and around Ogden Valley.  We welcome new members who love and appreciate the outdoors.  Folks can reach us at: BCHU-WF, PO Box 1017, Clearfield UT 84089 or email Richard Webb at rcw1010@msn.com
